Students who live close to the school may walk, entering through the Hall Parade entrance to Korowal.
Trains
The school has a long history of managing train travel, given the distances in the Mountains between towns. It endeavours to make the experience pleasant and safe. Older students help our supervisor with the younger students, in the Korowal tradition. Many parents of younger children help the children adjust by travelling with them for a few days or weeks.
All children will travel by bus between Lawson and the school, before and after school. Children are supervised at school both before and after until the buses arrive.
All Korowal students who travel by train go to the last carriage on the train in the mornings and the first carriage in the afternoons, except on Fridays when Korowal students travel in the last carriage - this applies to Primary students only.
Morning travel
Supervised train travel is provided from the upper and lower mountains each morning to Lawson station. Students then travel by public bus to school. The Primary school students are accompanied on the bus by the school's travel supervisor.
Upper Mountains: Please note that we are only able to provide supervision from Katoomba. If your child needs to board at a station before this PLEASE CONTACT THE SCHOOL as there are a variety of options/solutions.
Lower Mountains: We provide supervision from whichever is the furthest away station from Lawson for primary school age children.

Current bus service for Hazelbrook
There is a teacher on duty at Redgum Avenue to escort children to school.
For further information concerning bus travel, phone the Blue Mountains Bus Company 02 4782 4213, or visit www.bmbc.com.au.
Bus and train passes
The NSW Government has recently reinstated free school travel.
Students must apply through the school office for train and bus passes. We strongly recommend that you complete and return these applications before the beginning of term, even if you are still not sure whether or not your child will be using public transport. Bus and train passes are not necessary for the first few days of school.
Car Pooling
Some parents organise car pooling for travel to school. If you would like to car pool but haven't found a link yet, let the school office know and the school will try to help.
