System requirements
To use ePay's Hosted Payment page, you need:
An Internet Merchant Account from any of the participating banks. Participating banks are: Commonwealth, Westpac, St George, Challenge, ANZ, Bank of Melbourne, NAB, Advance, BankSA, and Bankwest. The bank will charge a negotiated % transaction fee on each transaction, and may charge establishment and monthly service fees.
A web site hosted on virtually any web server with an Internet connection. The Payment Page does not require the installation of its own software and there is no need for SSL.
A shopping cart or other means for customers to select products and record their order. ePay allows details of the order and customer to be posted with the transaction and recorded on the ePay backend system. This means that a database on the merchant’s web site it not necessary.
Skills to integrate the payment page into the web site. Instructions are provided and the work requires a little knowledge of web development but does not require significant technical expertise. As an optional additional service, Multibase can do the work for you.
How it works
The buyer selects their purchase on the merchant’s site.
The details of the order are posted to a customised secure form hosted on the ePay server. The buyer provides their credit card and possibly other details.
The transaction is processed and a result returned to the secure page on the ePay server.
The user closes the window, or selects a link on the page to return to a nominated URL. This can contain any variables (e.g. a cookie ID) that can be passed through, in a hidden field, as a URL. In this way, the payment page provides a manual return to the merchant’s web site.
Other options
To report the transaction result automatically to a page on the merchant’s web site, or to a merchant’s web application or database, use the ePay API.
For pre-built ecommerce shopping carts, see our eBusiness packages.

Transaction records
All transactions are logged and we provide real-time reports online, with the ability to search, sort order, and generate a delimited file for download.
It is also possible to program directly to the API to query and retrieve transaction records, allowing for example an order reconciliation system to be built.
ePay does not store credit card numbers; they are passed directly through the payment gateway to the bank.
Integration into your web site
Setup of the merchant facility does not include integrating it into your web site or providing a shopping cart. Your web site or shopping cart needs to send information to the payment gateway. This can be done with a little technical knowledge and our documentation, or by Multibase (allowing about 2 hours depending on complexity).
