rePay technical information

rePay can be used to process recurring credit card transactions in two ways.

  • Use Multibase's Merchant Administration Centre to set up and manage recurring transactions to be processed through your ePay account.
  • Program rePay into the back of your shopping cart or database web site.

Managing rePay with the Merchant Administration Centre

Log into ePay's secure Merchant Administration Centre to set up your recurring transactions. Almost any combination of rules for recurrence can be applied to a payment - including daily, weekly, monthly, annually. Authorisation and payment details are kept securely offline.

In this case, requirements are:

  • An ePay account with Multibase. This can be a new or an existing account.
  • A rePay account with Mutlibase, connected to your ePay account.
  • A bank Internet merchant approval to receive the proceeds of your transactions.

Programming rePay into your web site

Technically, rePay is a set of Java servlets that accepts form information using POST requests, and returns XML documents. It will be necessary for the web pages making these requests to be able to process XML responses.

If you program rePay into the back of your shopping cart or database web site, your buyer stays completely within your web site, using your own SSL. Your web developer can use rePay's Application Programming Interface (API) to process your recurring credit card transactions. It’s a serious platform-independent programmer's method, yet the hard work has already been done to make integration relatively simple.

The system can also be used to process pre-existing authorisations.

Requirements for programmatic access to rePay are:

  • An ePay account with Multibase. This can be a new or an existing account.
  • A rePay account with Mutlibase, connected to your ePay account.
  • A bank Internet merchant approval to receive the proceeds of your transactions.
  • Hosting for your web site (at Multibase or elsewhere), with SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)
  • Web site programming to collect transaction authorisations and route your transactions to your rePay account.

Multibase provides documentation and technical support.

rePay management
  • rePay also allows a merchant to import a file of recurring payments already authorised by customers, or to manage individual payments through our web-based Merchant Administration Centre.
  • Authorisation and payment details are kept securely offline. rePay transactions are encrypted with 128 bit SSL. The information needed to authorise and process recurring transactions is safely stored away from a public environment.
  • Reports and management are accessed from the online ePay Merchant Administration Centre.
