Simple price, maximum flexibility

Multibase web hosting plans provide simple pricing, with as much flexibility as possible. Our customer support staff will do as much as possible to help your site function as you wish it to, with maximum security, reliability and economy.

The standard hosting platform is Linux (normally Debian). All hosting plans are also available on Windows.
Within technical and security boundaries, nearly all functions can be added to any basic hosting plan to make a custom package that suits your needs.
Standard data traffic allowances are based on typical usage. Additional data traffic and storage allowances can readily be negotiated - please contact us.

Storage and traffic
Web storage space	The amount of data or files stored on your web site. Calculated on a rolling 12 month average of file storage space actually used. Email box allowances are additional to this. If your web site consistently exceeds the allowance, simply transfer to the next hosting plan.
Data traffic allowance	Data traffic downloaded from your web site each month, calculated on a rolling 12 month average to eliminate excess charges. If your web site consistently exceeds the allowance, simply transfer to the next hosting plan.
Domain names, mailboxes, email
Domain names allowed	If you already own a domain name which is not managed by Multibase, you can point it to your web site’s IP address – no additional charge. If Multibase manages your domain name (that you already own) and points it to your web site. Multibase will make unlimited changes to a Domain Name Zone File, including the ability to modify MX records, A records and sub-domains. $100.00 p.a.
POP Mailboxes	POP mailbox accounts, enabling you to download mail from the server with mail clients such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora. Mail storage allowance is additional to web hosting allowance.
Webmail	Access your mailboxes through a web browser, from anywhere in the world with Internet access.
Aliases, forwarding	Available – contact Customer service.
Additional mailboxes	Add mailboxes or move to the next hosting plan.
Site management
Web statistics	Webalizer graphical web statistics package
Administration access	Use Secure FTP to access your web site through a graphic user interface application such as WinSCP, or use SSH for secure shell access.
Webmin GUI for MySQL	Webmin is a graphical user interface tool which is used to manage MySQL databases. For security reasons, you need a static IP address for your Internet connection.
Advanced features

Standard hosting features

	What is it	Availability	Price
POP Mailboxes	If you have a domain name, you can have POP (Post Office Protocol) mailboxes @yourdomain. Generic email addresses e.g. info, sales, webmaster are available as required (using aliases). A default (catch-all) mailbox or alias can be established also and is included in the mailbox count, however this is not recommended to reduce the amount of spam you may receive.	Any number of additional mailboxes can be established for an appropriate fee, beyond the number allowed in hosting accounts. An alias for a POP3 mailbox is counted as one account not two. Mailbox data traffic and storage is allowed in addition to hosting account traffic allowances. Reasonable use limits apply.	Included in hosting accounts. Additional mailboxes: $105.00 pa for 5
Web statistics	Graphical web statistics packages measure and display usage of your web site. Real-time web visitation statistics are included in hosting plans (Webalizer for Unix, SmarterStats for Windows).	Statistics are kept for 12 months then deleted unless other arrangements made. FTP access	FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the means by which you can transfer web site files to and from your web site. Additional accounts may be set up, for example to allow different staff to manage different areas of a complex web site. Unfortunately FTP is often used to attack poorly managed web servers, so Secure FTP (available through many free software clients) is preferred.	Where possible, server access is by Secure FTP alone. One account is set up by default for each web site.	Time-based service and support fees may apply for specialist setups, or when configuration changes are required after initial setup.
Backup	Standard backup schedule is a full data backup every 24 hours on our network backup and to tape, using a weekly rotation system. These backup tapes are held in fireproof storage. Other backup	Other arrangements can be negotiated and quoted individually. Restoration from backup is charged at standard hourly rates.
Monitoring systems		Key servers, services and communications monitored using the industry-standard What's Up? Gold, which is accessible both during business hours and remotely by Multibase staff.
Hosting platforms		Hosting plans are available on Linux (default) or Windows 2003.
Security	Multibase provides a specialist hosting environment physically located in Fujitsu Australia's Sydney Internet Data Centre. The centre has multple redundant power supplies, and multi-homed Internet connections. Servers are managed daily by specialist security consultants

Domain names	A domain name allows a web site at your domain name e.g. www.yourdomain.com.au and email to be username@yourdomain.com.au. Both offer professional presentation of web site and email addresses. Alternatively, you can have an address at australis.net.au. Multibase manages its own DNS (Domain Name Server) and has wide knowledge readily available so we can readily provide advanced features.	Any number of domain names can be pointed to one or more parts of your web site.	Domain name fees
Subdomains	This allows a sub-section of your web site or email users to have a different address e.g. sales.yourdomain.com.au. Subdomains are typically used for a large web site, or when different parts of the site are hosted on different servers or different hosting platforms (even with another provider), or when a separate SSL-secured section is required.	Any number of sub-domain names can be established and pointed to one or more parts of your web site.	Domain name fees
Advanced web server functions	Depending on the platform, advanced web server functionality can be established on your site e.g. directory browsing on/off, script aliases, local cgi, login/password protection for directories, redirects etc. These are typically needed in a custom built web application. SSH, Terminal services and Telnet access	SSH (Secure Shell) gives expert-level access to Unix servers, and Terminal Services is similar for Windows servers.	SSH is available to Linux servers. Telnet is not available due to security risks. Expert-level access from your static IP address can be allowed. Access to Windows servers by Terminal Services is possible. Fees and conditions apply.
